Ask for the motor model—not just the Dooya name
Dooya supplies many motor, receiver and control families. A quotation that says only ‘Dooya Pro’ does not establish torque, voltage, radio protocol, direction feedback, gateway compatibility or which Home Assistant entities will exist.
Confirm the complete set before ordering: motor, track or tube, power supply, receiver, wall or handheld control, gateway and the proposed Home Assistant connection.
Get the curtain supplier, electrician and integrator on the same plan
The curtain specialist owns fabric weight, stack-back, track geometry and the mechanical installation. The electrician owns suitable power and safe isolation. The integrator owns the control path, gateway placement, automation and handover. Those responsibilities should meet on one drawing before carpentry closes.
Provide access to the motor and power connection after handover. A perfectly concealed installation that cannot be serviced is not complete.

Choose position feedback when the automation needs to know where the curtain stopped
One-way RF can transmit open, close or stop without proving where the curtain ended. Bidirectional systems can report position and manual movement when the compatible motor and gateway support it. That makes dashboards, grouped tracks and position-based solar control more trustworthy.
Home Assistant provides Dooya support through the Motionblinds integration. It uses local communication, but exact hardware support still needs confirmation against the current integration documentation.
Test the gateway and network as carefully as the curtain
The Motionblinds integration can use local multicast push from a compatible gateway. Network segmentation or gateway placement can prevent prompt state updates even when commands sometimes work. Test control and feedback after the final network is configured.
Commission each track from the wall control, remote and Home Assistant. Test power restoration, limit retention, obstruction behaviour and grouped scenes before handover.
