A purpose-built motor and a retrofit solve different problems
For a renovation, a motorised track designed around the opening usually gives the cleanest finish and the clearest route for power and maintenance. Dooya offers several motor and control families, so the exact track, motor and gateway still need to be confirmed together.
For an existing room where replacing the track or ceiling is unreasonable, a SwitchBot retrofit can be a useful option if the track shape, curtain weight and Bluetooth coverage suit it.
The ceiling detail matters as much as the app
Curtain boxes, stack-back space, power outlets, motor orientation and access for future replacement should be settled before carpentry closes. A beautiful concealed motor is not much help if it cannot be reached when the curtain needs servicing.
We give the relevant details to the ID, electrician and curtain supplier early enough for each trade to allow for them.
Home Assistant adds scenes without taking away normal control
Curtains can join morning, evening, glare-control and away scenes, or respond to a deliberate wall control. The exact positions and feedback available depend on the motor and connection path.
Normal wall, remote or manual operation remains part of the design, so opening the curtains never depends on finding the right dashboard.

Do you supply and integrate Dooya curtain motors?+
We can plan Dooya motors as part of the smart-home and curtain-control design. The final motor, track and control route are confirmed against the opening, curtain and supplier details.
When is SwitchBot Curtain a good option?+
It can suit a finished home where a compatible existing track should remain in place. Track type, curtain weight, charging access, Bluetooth coverage and acceptable noise should all be checked first.
Can the curtains still work without Home Assistant?+
We plan for a separate wall switch, remote or manual control where the motor supports it. We’ll show you which controls remain available if Home Assistant or the network is offline.
When should curtain motor planning begin?+
Before electrical and carpentry details are final. That leaves time to settle power, curtain-box dimensions, motor orientation, track support and maintenance access.
