Recording comes first; smart-home extras come second
A camera system should continue recording even if Home Assistant is restarting or the wider internet is down. We keep recording on the camera, a Reolink Home Hub or an NVR, then bring selected streams and events into Home Assistant.
That separation makes the system easier to understand and avoids turning one smart-home server into a single point of failure for security footage.
Good camera coverage begins on the floor plan
The best time to settle camera positions is before ceilings close and exterior finishes are complete. Field of view, mounting height, lens choice, night lighting, maintenance access and cable routes all affect the result.
For homes that are already finished, we look for practical routes and wireless options without pretending they are identical to a planned PoE installation.
Home Assistant can make the footage more useful
Supported Reolink events can appear in dashboards, notifications and simple household automations. A person detected at the gate might bring up a camera view or turn on an exterior light, while the camera system continues to handle its own recording.
We confirm those features against the exact camera and recorder model before specifying them.

01Do you install Reolink CCTV in Singapore homes?+
Yes. We can plan and integrate a Reolink camera system as part of a wider smart-home project, including cabling, local recording, network requirements and supported Home Assistant features.
02Does Home Assistant store the CCTV recordings?+
Not in our usual design. The camera, Home Hub or NVR remains responsible for recording. Home Assistant adds selected live views, events, notifications and automations.
03Can the cameras work if the internet is down?+
Local cameras and recorders can usually continue recording when the internet is unavailable, provided the local network and power remain up. Remote viewing and cloud-dependent features may not be available.
04Can you add cameras after renovation?+
Often, yes. We first check cable routes, power, wireless conditions and acceptable mounting positions, then explain where a retrofit differs from a fully pre-wired design.
