No-neutral wiring affects the product choice
A no-neutral smart switch powers itself through the lighting circuit even when the light appears off. That can work very well with compatible loads, but it changes device choice, minimum-load behaviour and the options for repeaters in a Zigbee mesh.
During a full resale renovation, adding neutral conductors to selected switch points can widen the long-term options. During a light retrofit, a good no-neutral design may be the more sensible choice.
